Remote Database Administrator DB2 - English speaking (REF4762Q)

Description:

• Provide infrastructure-level support for IBM DB2 environments (LUW).
• Plan, design, and execute DB2 migration and upgrade activities across versions and platforms.
• Assess and validate compatibility, dependencies, and risks for DB2 upgrade projects.
• Collaborate with architecture, application, and system engineering teams to ensure smooth transitions with minimal downtime.
• Implement DB2 patches and security updates in alignment with vendor recommendations and customer standards.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex infrastructure-related DB2 issues in development, test, and production environments.
• Support performance tuning, capacity planning, and storage optimization during migrations.
• Automate routine DB2 administrative and upgrade tasks using scripting (Shell, Python, Ansible, etc.).
• Ensure compliance with enterprise security policies, backup/recovery standards, and audit requirements.
• Provide on-call support.

Requirements:

• Proven hands-on experience in DB2 migrations, version upgrades, and platform transitions is required.
• A strong understanding of DB2 infrastructure components such as storage, memory management, logging, HADR, clustering, and replication is necessary.
• Experience with DB2 fix packs, patches, and OS compatibility considerations is essential.
• Cross-platform database expertise in PostgreSQL, MySQL, or Oracle is a plus.
• Solid knowledge of backup and recovery strategies is required.
• Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills for complex DB2 infrastructure issues are necessary.
• The ability to work in a multi-customer, multi-platform environment with global delivery models is essential.
