Description:

Provide infrastructure-level support for IBM DB2 environments (LUW).
Plan, design, and execute DB2 migration and upgrade activities across versions and platforms.
Assess and validate compatibility, dependencies, and risks for DB2 upgrade projects.
Collaborate with architecture, application, and system engineering teams to ensure smooth transitions with minimal downtime.
Implement DB2 patches and security updates in alignment with vendor recommendations and customer standards.
Troubleshoot and resolve complex infrastructure-related DB2 issues in development, test, and production environments.
Support performance tuning, capacity planning, and storage optimization during migrations.
Automate routine DB2 administrative and upgrade tasks using scripting (Shell, Python, Ansible, etc.).
Ensure compliance with enterprise security policies, backup/recovery standards, and audit requirements.
Provide on-call support.

Requirements:

Proven hands-on experience in DB2 migrations, version upgrades, and platform transitions is required.
A strong understanding of DB2 infrastructure components such as storage, memory management, logging, HADR, clustering, and replication is necessary.
Experience with DB2 fix packs, patches, and OS compatibility considerations is essential.
Cross-platform database expertise in PostgreSQL, MySQL, or Oracle is a plus.
Solid knowledge of backup and recovery strategies is required.
Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills for complex DB2 infrastructure issues are necessary.
The ability to work in a multi-customer, multi-platform environment with global delivery models is essential.
