We are seeking a skilled Database Reliability Engineer (DBRE) with expertise in MongoDB to join our team.
In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the performance, scalability, and reliability of our database infrastructure.
You will work closely with development, SRE, and DevOps teams to optimize database operations, automate processes, and proactively resolve issues.
You will design, maintain, and optimize MongoDB clusters for high availability and performance.
You will implement database monitoring, alerting, and automated remediation strategies.
You will collaborate with SRE and DevOps teams to integrate databases into CI/CD pipelines.
You will ensure database security, backup, and disaster recovery best practices.
You will troubleshoot database performance issues and optimize queries and indexes.
You will develop automation scripts and infrastructure-as-code (IaC) solutions for database operations.
You will plan and execute database upgrades, migrations, and capacity planning.
Requirements:
A Highschool Diploma or equivalent is required.
A Bachelor's degree in software development, database programming, or computer engineering is preferred.
You must have 5+ years in an SRE position managing database workloads (preferably MongoDB workloads) or 5+ years in a developer position with advanced MongoDB knowledge.
You should have experience with automation frameworks.
You must have experience with Python and/or Ansible or equivalents.
You should have expertise in MongoDB configuration, tuning, upgrading, and recovery.
You must have experience with MongoDB sharding.
You should have experience with MongoDB query and index tuning.
You must have experience with MongoDB replication.
Strong knowledge of MongoDB indexes, index management, integrity checks, and statistics is required.
You should understand query plans to troubleshoot performance issues.
You must have advanced analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are required.
You should have the ability to work in a team environment and apply varying leadership skills to create solutions.
Benefits:
The anticipated starting pay range for this role is $116,100-$170,280 for Colorado and $135,300 – $198,400 for New York City, Washington, and California.
The role may include variable compensation in the form of bonuses, commissions, or other discretionary payments based on company and/or individual performance.
