Description:

  • We are seeking a skilled Database Reliability Engineer (DBRE) with expertise in MongoDB to join our team.
  • In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the performance, scalability, and reliability of our database infrastructure.
  • You will work closely with development, SRE, and DevOps teams to optimize database operations, automate processes, and proactively resolve issues.
  • You will design, maintain, and optimize MongoDB clusters for high availability and performance.
  • You will implement database monitoring, alerting, and automated remediation strategies.
  • You will collaborate with SRE and DevOps teams to integrate databases into CI/CD pipelines.
  • You will ensure database security, backup, and disaster recovery best practices.
  • You will troubleshoot database performance issues and optimize queries and indexes.
  • You will develop automation scripts and infrastructure-as-code (IaC) solutions for database operations.
  • You will plan and execute database upgrades, migrations, and capacity planning.

Requirements:

  • A Highschool Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • A Bachelor's degree in software development, database programming, or computer engineering is preferred.
  • You must have 5+ years in an SRE position managing database workloads (preferably MongoDB workloads) or 5+ years in a developer position with advanced MongoDB knowledge.
  • You should have experience with automation frameworks.
  • You must have experience with Python and/or Ansible or equivalents.
  • You should have expertise in MongoDB configuration, tuning, upgrading, and recovery.
  • You must have experience with MongoDB sharding.
  • You should have experience with MongoDB query and index tuning.
  • You must have experience with MongoDB replication.
  • Strong knowledge of MongoDB indexes, index management, integrity checks, and statistics is required.
  • You should understand query plans to troubleshoot performance issues.
  • You must have advanced analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are required.
  • You should have the ability to work in a team environment and apply varying leadership skills to create solutions.

Benefits:

  • The anticipated starting pay range for this role is $116,100-$170,280 for Colorado and $135,300 – $198,400 for New York City, Washington, and California.
  • The role may include variable compensation in the form of bonuses, commissions, or other discretionary payments based on company and/or individual performance.
