The organization is seeking a hands-on, pragmatic DevOps Engineer to join the Platform & Operations team.
The DevOps Engineer will be responsible for ensuring the availability, performance, and security of the infrastructure while enabling rapid, safe deployments across multiple countries.
The role involves working closely with backend, frontend, and mobile engineers, as well as product and operations teams, to deliver scalable infrastructure solutions that meet the demands of healthcare in emerging markets.
Key responsibilities include managing and optimizing infrastructure in AWS, operating and improving the Nomad orchestration platform, maintaining and enhancing Octopus Deploy pipelines for CI/CD, and ensuring infrastructure-as-code best practices using Terraform/OpenTofu.
The engineer will support deployments across multiple environments and countries, ensure platform availability meets agreed SLAs, troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure and deployment issues, implement and maintain security best practices, manage access control, and document processes and architecture.
Requirements:
Strong experience with AWS core services such as EC2, RDS, S3, IAM, and VPC is required.
Proven hands-on experience with container orchestration platforms, specifically Nomad and Kubernetes, is necessary.
A solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines, ideally with Octopus Deploy, is essential.
Experience with Terraform/OpenTofu for infrastructure-as-code is required.
Familiarity with networking, load balancing, and monitoring in cloud environments is necessary.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail are essential for this role.
Excellent communication skills for cross-functional collaboration are required.
Experience in multi-region deployments for services with country-specific configurations is necessary.
Knowledge of telecom integrations and emerging market connectivity challenges is preferred.
Familiarity with NodeJS, React, PHP, or Java deployment environments is beneficial.
A background in healthcare or regulated industries is preferred.
