Remote FBS Jr. Data Engineer

Description:

• The position is for a Jr. Data Engineer at one of the largest insurers in the United States, which provides a wide range of insurance and financial services products.
• The role involves acquiring, curating, and publishing data both on-premises and in the cloud for analytical or operational uses for basic to moderate scenarios.
• The engineer ensures that the data is in a ready-to-use form, creating a single version of the truth for all data consumers, including business/technology users, reporting specialists, and data scientists.
• Responsibilities include translating business analytic requests into design, development, testing, deployment, and production maintenance tasks.
• The role requires working with various technologies, including big data, relational and non-relational databases, cloud environments, programming languages, and reporting tools, with some requiring training.
• Essential functions include consulting on intermediate complexity data projects, producing data building blocks and models, creating user access methods to data, and developing scalable data pipelines.
• The engineer will also prep and cleanse data for downstream reporting and apply knowledge of data governance concepts while executing projects within timelines.

Requirements:

• A High School Diploma or equivalent is required; a Bachelor's degree is preferred.
• 1-3 years of related experience is required for this position.
• Proficiency in Power BI at an intermediate level is necessary.
• Entry-level knowledge of SQL and ETL is required.
• Fluency in English is mandatory.
