Remote Field Application Scientist - Tokyo

Description:

• As a Field Application Scientist, you will engage with customers daily and deliver system usage trainings at customer sites.
• You will provide experimental design, data analysis, logistical, and troubleshooting support across your region.
• You will act as a key contact, in conjunction with in-house Technical Support, for responding to issues and maintaining relationships with customers.
• The primary goals of this position are to ensure rapid adoption and maximum customer success with 10x Genomics’ products.
• You will communicate by acting as the main point of contact between the customer and the company, keeping customers informed about advancements in 10x technology and software, coordinating and performing customer site trainings and demonstrations, and documenting customer issues to management.
• You will connect with customers by scientifically partnering with them in their research, collaborating in scientific discussions, creating and maintaining positive working relationships, and gathering strategic customer feedback for Marketing and Product Development teams.
• You will support customers by troubleshooting technical issues, interpreting customer needs, supporting the field sales team at events, and handling stressful situations calmly.

Requirements:

• Extensive experience in molecular biology, biochemistry, genomics, or genetics is required.
• Demonstrable knowledge and experience with NGS workflows and data analysis software and/or sorting cytometry and associated analysis software is necessary.
• A clear vision of and commitment to providing outstanding customer service is essential.
• Excellent organizational, analytical, and systematic troubleshooting skills are required.
• Good written and verbal English and Japanese language skills are necessary.
• Outstanding presentation and training skills are required.
• The ability to maintain records for customer sites and provide high-level feedback to management is essential.
• A willingness to travel up to 50% is required.
