Whitespace is seeking an innovative Front-End Engineer to join their dynamic team.
The position is remote, with a location preference for Alexandria, VA.
The candidate must be eligible for clearance and must be a U.S. citizen residing in the contiguous United States.
Responsibilities include developing and maintaining user-facing features using modern frontend technologies, collaborating with designers and backend developers, and integrating AI capabilities into the front-end.
The engineer will design, build, and maintain a React-based web application, ensuring technical feasibility of UI/UX designs and optimizing applications for speed and scalability.
The role requires writing reusable, testable, and efficient code, ensuring cross-browser compatibility, and participating in code reviews.
The ideal candidate should have a passion for building intuitive interfaces and strong problem-solving skills.
Requirements:
A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field with a minimum of 5 years of experience building React-based web applications at scale, or equivalent work experience.
Expertise in modern frontend frameworks and experience in building responsive, performant web applications.
Experience with CSS preprocessors like SASS or LESS is required.
Proficiency with Git, version control, and automated testing frameworks such as Jest or Cypress is necessary.
Familiarity with Python for AI/ML integration and the ability to integrate AI models into frontend applications is preferred.
A proven track record of creating highly interactive, user-friendly interfaces is essential.
Understanding of responsive and adaptive design principles, along with attention to detail and a passion for user experience, is required.
