  • We are seeking a Full-Stack Software Engineer to join our engineering team, blending technical work with people leadership.
  • This remote-first role is open to candidates in European timezones, with some required travel to hospitals in the US and Europe for workflow observation and co-design with clinical users.
  • You will work across the stack on systems utilized by hospital staff in high-stakes environments, taking ownership of features from PRD to deployment.
  • In your first 6 months, you will own and ship projects end-to-end, contribute to product development, deliver weekly enhancements or fixes, build modular and self-documenting code, collaborate across various domains, and foster a positive team culture.
  • The technology stack includes Elixir (Phoenix), C++, React, TypeScript, Azure, GitHub Actions, containerized deployments, NixOS, Postgres, ETL pipelines, GraphQL, and REST APIs.

Requirements:

  • You should be a well-rounded engineer with experience across the stack, regardless of your previous titles.
  • You must be known for writing clean, reliable code and for proactive communication.
  • Taking initiative is essential; if something is broken, you should either fix it or raise it.
  • You should be able to think in systems and edge cases while moving quickly and pragmatically.
  • Thriving in team settings that value candid discussions, curiosity, and mutual respect is important.
  • You need to include the word โ€˜penguinโ€™ in your application to demonstrate that you have read the job description.
  • Finding purpose in building software that addresses real problems for real people is a must.
  • While deep experience in each tool is not required, curiosity and adaptability are highly valued.
