Description:

  • Our client is seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Lead Full-Stack Developer to work as a full-time remote contractor.
  • The role involves taking ownership of an existing mobile app codebase and leading hands-on architecture and development across the product backlog.
  • Responsibilities include shipping new features, maintaining the production system, and improving the platform’s robustness as the user base scales.
  • The product is built with React Native / Expo and Firebase, including Firestore, and integrates significantly with Google Calendar.
  • The Lead Developer will collaborate directly with the Founder, CTO, and Product Manager to drive the feature set and ensure stable, well-tested, and well-documented releases.
  • This position is ideal for someone who enjoys building consumer products end-to-end and thrives in fast-paced startup environments.

Requirements:

  • Candidates must have 8+ years of professional software development experience, including significant hands-on full-stack work.
  • Proven experience in owning and evolving a production codebase in a fast-paced environment is required.
  • Strong experience with React Native/Expo and proficiency in modern JavaScript/TypeScript is necessary.
  • Candidates should have strong Firebase experience, including Firestore data modeling and best practices for performance and security.
  • Experience integrating with third-party APIs and sync workflows is essential, with Google Calendar experience being a major plus.
  • Strong React experience for future web implementation and comfort designing shared patterns across platforms is required.
  • Experience in designing scalable, robust architectures for consumer-facing applications is necessary.
  • Candidates must have experience configuring and maintaining CI/CD pipelines and release workflows.
  • The ability to write clear technical documentation and communicate complex concepts simply is required.
  • A strong ownership mindset, being proactive, accountable, and comfortable making decisions with imperfect information is essential.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, especially in a remote-first environment, are required.
  • Candidates should be comfortable working directly with product leadership and helping drive the feature set with practical input.
