Remote Network Engineer

Description:

• We are seeking a network engineer with a true CCIE-level routing and switching background who is comfortable writing production code.
• This position is not a traditional NOC role; it is designed for someone who treats networks as software systems.
• The responsibilities include designing and operating large-scale, high-availability, low-latency networks.
• The engineer will work on BGP, EVPN, MPLS, segment routing, and carrier-grade routing architectures.
• Building automation frameworks in Go and Python to manage network configuration, deployment, and monitoring is a key task.
• The role involves partnering with hardware, protocol, and systems engineers to optimize for latency, reliability, and scale.
• The engineer will also debug real-world production network failures across physical and virtual layers.

Requirements:

• A CCIE or equivalent hands-on routing and switching expertise is required.
• Strong experience in ISP, carrier, or backbone network environments is essential.
• Solid production experience in Go and Python is necessary, not just scripting.
• A deep understanding of routing protocols, convergence, and network failure modes is expected.
• Experience in treating infrastructure as code and systems as software is required.
• Preference will be given to candidates with telecom, ISP, or infrastructure backgrounds over those from high-frequency trading (HFT).
