Remote Principal Software Engineer, AI Platform

Description:

• Lead the design, development, and scalability of core Java-based backend services for a multi-tenant platform.
• Architect and optimize platform components for high-throughput, low-latency, and mission-critical workflows.
• Integrate and manage core data systems (e.g., relational DBs, Redis, Elasticsearch, LDAP) for performance and fault tolerance.
• Modernize backend services by refactoring legacy Java components and adopting modern patterns.
• Champion best practices for Java development, testing, and deployment in a microservices environment.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to build robust platform capabilities.
• Mentor engineers in Java design principles and engineering for reliability.
• Develop and maintain platform APIs and critical workflows.
• Identify and remediate bottlenecks in Java services and JVM performance.
• Build automation for developer productivity and service reliability.

Requirements:

• 10+ years of experience in Software Engineering with a focus on Java, Spring Boot, and distributed systems.
• Proven track record of building scalable backend platforms for millions of users.
• Deep understanding of the Java ecosystem, JVM internals, and performance tuning.
• Hands-on experience with data systems like PostgreSQL/MySQL, Redis, and Elasticsearch.
• Experience with multi-tenant architectures and resource control.
• Strong experience in building RESTful APIs and microservices.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes, Docker, and AWS.
• Knowledge of observability tools and log management.
• Experience with authentication and identity providers integration.
• Strong command of DevOps practices and automation tools.
• Proven leadership in collaboration and mentoring.
• Excellent analytical and communication skills.
