Remote Senior AI Engineer, Location AI

Description:

• Lead the technical design and delivery of multi-component AI systems across various teams at Mapbox.
• Define product functionality, build measurement frameworks, and evaluate non-deterministic behaviors.
• Own MVP development, build data pipelines, and track external datasets and models.
• Design feedback loops and improve model harnesses while ensuring system availability through on-call rotation.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline and 5+ years of software engineering experience.
• 2+ years of experience shipping LLM-backed features with production ownership.
• Strong data engineering skills, including SQL and distributed processing frameworks.
• Proficiency in Python or TypeScript and experience diagnosing latency in distributed systems.
• Clear written communication skills and comfort with ambiguity in problem-solving.
