They serve as the Directly Responsible Individual for major sections of the Enterprise Dimensional Model.
The role involves designing, developing, and extending dbt code to enhance the Enterprise Dimensional Model.
Analytics Engineers approve data model changes and provide data modeling expertise to all GitLab teams.
They own stakeholder relationships in various business functions and advocate for the Data Quality Program.
The position requires guiding Work Breakdown Sessions and organizing quarter-long development initiatives.
Requirements:
Candidates must have 6+ years of experience in the data space as an analyst, engineer, scientist, or equivalent.
A minimum of 2+ years managing the same data model system over time is required.
Demonstrated experience leading 4 or more analytics projects from beginning to operationalization is necessary.
Candidates should have experience designing and socializing Entity Relationship Diagrams and reference SQL scripts.
Experience with multiple commercial data warehouses, ETL tools, and data visualization tools is essential.
Extensive experience in 2 or more major data subject areas such as marketing, sales, finance, etc., is required.
Candidates must be able to use GitLab and thrive in a fully remote organization.
A positive and solution-oriented mindset is essential, along with comfort in a highly agile environment.
Strong communication skills are necessary to achieve consensus among technical and business teams.
