CardFlight is seeking a Senior Backend Software Engineer to join their remote team, which operates across over 25 US states.
The role involves working with the Foundations engineering team, responsible for setting technical direction and solving complex problems.
Responsibilities include developing new features for the flagship mobile application, SwipeSimple, and collaborating with product managers, designers, and backend engineers.
The engineer will drive technical innovation, ensure product stability through testing, and assist in architectural design for long-term scalability.
The position also includes mentoring junior engineers, coaching the team in Agile practices, and providing technical support for customer-facing issues.
The technology stack includes Ruby on Rails, Typescript, C#, Ruby AWS lambdas, and a web front end built on Preact.
Requirements:
Candidates must have 4+ years of backend development experience and 3+ years in a senior engineering role.
A minimum of 2 years of experience mentoring and coaching less experienced engineers is required.
Experience with infrastructure as code and building CI/CD pipelines is essential.
Applicants should have a proven track record of delivering complex projects on time and with high quality.
Strong communication and collaboration skills are necessary, along with the ability to motivate and guide a team.

Competitive compensation includes a base salary ranging from $150,000 to $180,000, with an additional target annual bonus of $10,000 to $20,000 and eligibility for equity awards.
