The Senior Backend Engineer will help build and scale Forte's core platform, working closely with the Founder/CEO and a cross-functional team.
Responsibilities include designing, developing, and maintaining backend services, building Node.js APIs, managing CI/CD pipelines, and ensuring backend systems are scalable and secure.
Requirements:
A minimum of 5 to 8 years of experience as a backend developer or in a similar software engineering role within SaaS, technology, education, or related sectors is required.
Proven experience in designing, building, and maintaining scalable backend systems, with a history of collaborating with cross-functional teams.
Strong expertise in designing and developing APIs using Node.js is essential.
Familiarity with AWS Lambda, Firebase Functions, DynamoDB, and Firestore is required.
Understanding of React and Tailwind CSS to effectively collaborate with the frontend team is necessary.
Experience with NoSQL databases such as DynamoDB, Firestore, or Cosmos DB is needed.
Proficiency with GitHub Actions for setting up and maintaining CI/CD pipelines is required.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English are essential.
Candidates must be comfortable working Australian business hours and be self-starters who can manage multiple priorities in a remote-first environment.
