Xenon7 is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Data Engineer to join their growing data team.
The role involves designing and developing scalable, high-performance data pipelines and lakehouse architectures.
The Senior Data Engineer will work closely with data modelers, analysts, and business stakeholders to deliver trusted, real-time and batch-based data solutions.
This position will directly contribute to the backbone of the company's analytics and AI-driven strategies.
Key responsibilities include designing, implementing, and optimizing data pipelines using both batch and streaming processing frameworks.
The engineer will architect and maintain data lakehouse solutions using Apache Iceberg and object storage such as S3.
Responsibilities also include implementing scalable Data Vault and Star Schema models, building and managing real-time ingestion pipelines with Kafka, Spark, or Flink, and integrating workflows using tools like Airflow, dbt, NiFi, or Airbyte.
The role requires enforcing data governance, data quality, and access control policies, as well as troubleshooting pipeline performance and reliability issues.

Requirements:

A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is required.
Candidates must have 5+ years of experience in data engineering or backend development.
A strong background in software engineering and distributed systems is essential.
A deep understanding of data processing frameworks such as Kafka, Spark, and Flink is necessary.
Advanced proficiency in SQL and at least one programming language (Python or Java) is required.
A solid understanding of functional and object-oriented programming principles is needed.
Proven experience with modern data stack tools like Airflow, dbt, and Docker is expected.
Familiarity with Apache Iceberg, S3-compatible object stores, and Lakehouse architecture is important.
Experience with NoSQL databases (e.g., Cassandra, MongoDB) is preferred.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to debug complex data workflows are essential.
