Remote Senior DevOps Engineer

Description:

• The Senior DevOps Engineer is responsible for the entire lifecycle of Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) approaches.
• This role involves defining automated configuration management, release management, build, test, and deployment activities.
• The engineer will provide prototypes and concepts for further automation of assigned technology.
• The position is part of a newly established, cross-functional Scrum team based in Košice, committed to fostering a strong DevOps culture under the motto: "We build it, we run it."
• The team enjoys broad access to a modern technology stack with the freedom to choose, while adhering to some architectural guidelines.
• The team primarily works remotely, with in-person meetings required for sprint demos, planning, and retrospectives every two weeks, and Program Increment (PI) planning sessions held approximately every 3–4 months for 3 days locally or abroad.
• Responsibilities include designing, developing, testing, and implementing infrastructure for CI/CD pipelines and IaC, managing source code, configuration management, release management, build and deployment activities, and setting up integration with partner applications.
• The engineer will conduct performance analyses, error analyses, and troubleshooting, consult and implement new innovative technologies, create concepts for further automation, support project teams, optimize development and system infrastructure, provide consulting on areas of expertise, and research and develop in assigned technology.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have at least 4 years of experience in ICT systems.
• Expertise in scripting (Bash, Python), Linux Operating System, Docker, Git, and Networking is required.
• Intermediate experience with GCP/AWS and Maven/Gradle is necessary.
• Advanced knowledge in Kubernetes, Ansible/Terraform/Puppet, ELK/Prometheus/Icinga/Jaeger/Grafana, and Security is essential.
• Familiarity with Agile Methodology, Scrum, and SAFe is expected.
• Candidates should be communicative, a team player, possess analytical thinking, training skills, and presentation skills.
• Proficiency in English at an upper-intermediate level (B2) is required.
