Description:

The application of Digital construction support will serve as the central platform for the digitization of construction sites for fiber-rollout in Germany.
The Senior DevOps Engineer will be part of a central team that develops and operates the system.
Main goals of the system include improving efficiency for construction supervisors and related documentation, enhancing quality during the construction phase, and increasing automation in the billing process.
Responsibilities include building and maintaining a scalable, reliable, and secure environment on AWS using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools.
The engineer will oversee the deployment, configuration, and management of clusters.
Designing and managing CI/CD pipelines and collaborating closely with development teams for continuous improvement is essential.
The role involves maintaining and adjusting monitoring and logging solutions to ensure the health and performance of applications and infrastructure.
Security best practices must be followed, including managing access controls, vulnerability management, and compliance requirements.
Automating repetitive tasks to improve efficiency and consistency across deployments and operations is a key task.
Collaboration with development teams is necessary to ensure smooth integration and operation of applications.
The engineer will ensure application stability through technical end-to-end incident analyses, troubleshooting, and operations support.

Requirements:

Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with Kubernetes and containerization technologies such as Docker is required.
Hands-on experience with designing, developing, deploying, and operating AWS is recommended.
Proficiency in configuration management with Terraform is necessary.
Knowledge of microservice architectures and REST APIs is essential.
Experience with version controlling, code merging, and CI/CD workflows and tools using GitLab is required.
Skills in monitoring and adjustments of automated system health checks are necessary.
Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Graylog, Cloudwatcher, Elasticsearch, and Kibana is required.
Candidates should be familiar with DevOps and modern engineering practices.
Experience with a modern programming language such as Java, Python, or Node.js, including cloud solution design patterns, is necessary.
Welcomed knowledge includes GitOps (with ArgoCD), platform security policies, DB administration (PostgreSQL), and experience with AWS services such as EC2, S3, RDS, IAM, VPC, Lambda, and CloudFormation.
