Whatnot is the largest live shopping platform in North America and Europe, focused on redefining e-commerce by blending community, shopping, and entertainment.
The company operates as a remote co-located team with hubs in the US, UK, Germany, Ireland, and Poland.
The role is for a Senior Frontend Engineer in the Games & Buyer Ecosystem Team in China, responsible for developing features for the US and Europe markets.
Responsibilities include designing and developing gamified mechanisms to drive purchases and engagement, building interactive challenges and reward systems, and continuously analyzing performance metrics and user feedback to refine product strategies.

Requirements:

Candidates should have 5+ years of frontend web development experience.
A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent work experience is required.
Proficiency in front-end technologies such as JavaScript, HTML, and CSS is necessary.
Experience with front-end frameworks and libraries such as React and Next.js is essential.
A proven track record of delivering user-facing features quickly is expected.
Candidates should possess excellent product instincts, prioritizing user experience over technical solutions.
Understanding of backend technologies to create seamless connections between the frontend and backend is required.
Good written and verbal English communication skills are necessary, without reliance on translation apps.
Bonus qualifications include experience building E-commerce products and fullstack or mobile development experience.
