AbbVie is seeking a talented Senior Frontend UX Engineer with approximately six years of experience to join their digital technology team.
The individual will be a key contributor to user-facing platforms, taking ownership of building and maintaining design system components.
Responsibilities include working with a team of engineers, architects, and QA engineers on the development, management, and maintenance of components within the enterprise design system.
The engineer will build responsive, accessible, and best-in-class front-end experiences for global marketing sites, customer portals, and e-commerce platforms.
Collaboration with designers, business systems analysts, and fellow engineers is essential to translate business requirements into scalable and flexible technical solutions.
The role involves championing frontend development best practices, ensuring high-quality, maintainable, and performant code.
The engineer will analyze and resolve technical problems using analytical problem-solving methods and associated tools.
Contributions to the advancement of the team through exploration of state-of-the-art tools and techniques, including AI, are expected.
The engineer will be accountable for the successful and timely completion of all tasks/projects under direct and matrix control.
The role may involve initiating new areas of investigation that can be incorporated into scientific or business activities.
Technical leadership and mentorship of less experienced staff in planning, methods, procedures, standards, and best practices are required.
Understanding and adherence to corporate standards regarding applicable Corporate and Divisional Policies, including code of conduct, safety, GxP compliance, data security, and the software development lifecycle, is necessary.
Requirements:
A Bachelor’s Degree with 6 years of experience; a Master’s Degree with 5 years of experience; or a PhD with 0 years of experience is required.
Expert-level proficiency in modern web standards, including HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript/TypeScript, is necessary.
Demonstrated experience with at least one modern frontend framework (e.g., React, Vue, Svelte) is required.
A strong portfolio or body of work that shows a creative passion for architecting new solutions and building frictionless user experiences is essential.
Excellent written and oral English communication skills are required.
Preferred qualifications include hands-on experience with Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) and Salesforce Commerce Cloud (formerly Demandware).
Being located in the East Coast US time zone is preferred to better align with team working hours.
Experience with design tools including Figma is also preferred.
