Description:

  • The Senior Lead Engineer Business Intelligence at OneSix works collaboratively to design and develop data-driven solutions that empower clients with actionable insights.
  • This role is mission-critical, leading project teams, shaping project scopes, and working directly with clients to refine and implement BI strategies.
  • While not a direct people manager, the Senior Lead Engineer serves as a technical team lead, providing mentorship, guidance, and strategic direction to team members to ensure successful project delivery.
  • They are responsible for architecting scalable data solutions, optimizing analytics workflows, and leveraging best-in-class BI tools to solve clients' most pressing challenges.
  • Key responsibilities include defining and driving the BI strategy, leading and mentoring a team of BI engineers, collaborating with executives and stakeholders, designing and optimizing data models, overseeing ETL pipeline development, managing cloud-based data platforms, and implementing BI solutions using various tools.
  • The role also involves integrating advanced analytics, establishing BI best practices, monitoring query performance, ensuring compliance with data privacy regulations, and facilitating training programs to enhance BI adoption.

Requirements:

  • A Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or a related field is required.
  • Candidates must have 6+ years of experience in business intelligence, data engineering, or a similar role.
  • Expert-level proficiency in SQL, data modeling, and ETL development is necessary.
  • Extensive experience with BI tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Looker is required.
  • A deep understanding of cloud data platforms (AWS, Azure) and data warehousing solutions is essential.
  • Strong programming skills in Python, R, or other scripting languages for data automation are needed.
  • Proven ability to lead teams and manage large-scale BI initiatives is a must.
  • Excellent problem-solving, strategic thinking, and stakeholder communication skills are required.
  • Experience with machine learning, AI-driven analytics, or predictive modeling is preferred.
  • Familiarity with data pipeline orchestration tools (Airflow, dbt, or similar) is beneficial.
  • Knowledge of version control (Git) and CI/CD for data workflows is important.
  • A background in Agile methodologies and project management is advantageous.
