Remote Senior Software Engineer, Backend

• You will report directly to the Engineering Manager and partner closely with product managers, designers, and other engineers across the company.
• Together, you will create scalable, reliable solutions that directly improve the healthcare experience for millions of members.
• Responsibilities include designing and building core systems, APIs, and services, solving complex integration challenges, contributing to product development, driving technical quality, collaborating cross-functionally, owning projects end-to-end, and mentoring teammates.

Requirements:

• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience is required.
• You must have 5+ years of professional software development experience.
• Strong expertise in at least one modern backend or systems language (e.g., Golang, Python, Java, or Ruby) is necessary.
• Experience designing and building APIs, distributed systems, or developer platforms is required.
• You should have experience with relational or NoSQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB).
• Familiarity with containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) and microservices architectures is expected.
• You must be able to balance technical tradeoffs with product and business impact.
• Comfort working in collaborative, cross-functional teams is essential.
