- Sleeper connects people over sports through games and community, focusing on user experience and product reliability.
- The Senior Software Engineer - Backend will scale core systems for fantasy sports and DFS, building critical backend services and collaborating with engineers.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of backend software engineering experience.
- Proven ability to build and scale distributed systems for millions of users.
- Proficiency in backend languages (e.g., Go, Python, Node.js, Java) and understanding of their trade-offs.
- Knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases, caching strategies, and message queues (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ).
- Experience designing and maintaining RESTful and/or GraphQL APIs.
- Cloud experience (AWS, GCP) and familiarity with containers (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes).
- Strong product mindset and excellent communication skills.
- Bonus: Proficiency in Elixir and passion for sports or gaming.
