Remote Senior Software Engineer, Cloud Capacity

Description:

• Lead high-impact initiatives to build systems for managing and forecasting resource needs in the Temporal Cloud.
• Drive the technical vision and roadmap for Cloud Capacity systems in collaboration with engineering and product leadership.
• Design infrastructure for resource utilization tracking, consumption forecasting, and automated capacity planning.
• Develop a resource manager to optimize infrastructure efficiency based on usage trends and customer needs.
• Collaborate with Product, Cloud Infrastructure, and Finance for decisions on provisioning, pricing, and scaling.
• Guide strategy for intelligent autoscaling, workload isolation, and performance in a multi-tenant cloud environment.

Requirements:

• Proven experience in large-scale infrastructure efforts in cloud compute, storage, and networking systems.
• Strong intuition for managing cloud costs, utilization tracking, and workload forecasting.
• Experience designing distributed systems in a production cloud environment (AWS, GCP, or Azure preferred).
• Hands-on experience with container orchestration technologies (e.g., Kubernetes).
• Exceptional collaboration and communication skills, influencing through clarity.
• Ability to align cross-functional stakeholders on complex infrastructure issues.
• 7+ years of experience building production software using Go, Java, or similar languages.
