Description:

• The Data team at Found is a full stack organization comprising data scientists, data engineers, and machine learning engineers.
• The team is responsible for researching, training, and deploying machine learning models to detect and prevent fraud in real time, as well as using data to guide product development.
• The Data Engineer will help scale data infrastructure, optimize data pipelines, and support decision-making across the organization.
• Recent accomplishments of the team include deploying a feature store that improved model training and deployment time by approximately 50%, optimizing reporting latencies from days to hours, and developing models to monitor financial transactions in real time.
• Daily responsibilities include designing and operating large-scale data infrastructure systems, building a data platform-as-a-service, bridging engineering and analytics, implementing ETL infrastructures, contributing to best practices in data engineering, and mentoring team members.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have 8+ years of experience in data infrastructure, data engineering, or analytics engineering roles.
• Experience with relational databases such as Postgres or MySQL, dbt, and Airflow is required.
• Candidates should have a track record of advocating for and implementing new technologies or frameworks that enhance data-driven decision-making.
• Experience with cloud-native big data infrastructure on platforms like GCP, AWS, or Azure is necessary.
• The ability to write clean and maintainable code, primarily in Python, is essential.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills are required to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Previous experience in the fintech space, startup environments, or knowledge of bookkeeping and taxes related to self-employment is a plus.
