  • As a Senior Backend Engineer on the GDP team, you will architect, develop, scale, and monitor solutions, improvements, and services across the Olo Engage product suite.
  • The software products support brands in harnessing guest data to boost retention and lower acquisition costs.
  • The team handles restaurant event data at the scale of billions of events per month.
  • The position is fully remote, allowing you to work from anywhere within the United Kingdom.
  • You will be contracted to Olo through Deel, an Employer of Record, which handles the legal and administrative responsibilities of your employment.
  • You will maintain a day-to-day relationship with Olo while Deel will be your point of contact for job-related matters.
  • You will retain all employment rights under local employment law and be eligible for statutorily required benefits and pension programs.

What You’ll Do:

  • Design and build reliable but simple solutions to complex problems at scale.
  • Own the code and services you deploy, observe performance, and identify emerging problems.
  • Assess and resolve production incidents that arise in the components your team manages.
  • Help scale to the next level of growth and reliability as new enterprise clients are onboarded.
  • Research and propose new technologies to apply.
  • Look for diverse perspectives and challenge business and technical assumptions.
  • Provide constructive criticism to build the team's overall strength.
  • Satisfy commitments.

Requirements:

  • You must have 6+ years of on-the-job development experience.
  • Experience with architecting and developing end-to-end flows in a distributed/microservices application architecture is required.
  • You should have experience writing unit tests and testable code.
  • A bias for working in a highly collaborative team environment is essential.
  • You must demonstrate empathy for customer needs and communicate your understanding effectively.

Benefits:

  • The estimated compensation range for this position is £57,600 - £70,000 annually, depending on your experience.
  • You will be eligible to participate in all statutorily required benefits and pension programs.
