Remote Senior Software Engineer - Platform Engineering

Description:

• Zello is a voice-first communication platform that enhances collaboration and productivity for desk-less workers, boasting over 175 million users and delivering 9 billion messages monthly.
• The Platform Engineering team is responsible for building and maintaining the foundational systems that power Zello's products and improve the developer experience.
• As a Senior Software Engineer, you will design, implement, and maintain scalable infrastructure and platform tooling to accelerate development, increase reliability, and streamline operations.
• You will work closely with product engineers and security to ensure the platform is secure, efficient, and user-friendly.
• This role requires strong problem-solving skills, technical ownership, and a passion for creating tools and systems that empower others.
• After a successful first year, you will have designed and launched a major platform service or infrastructure enhancement, delivered developer self-service capabilities, and improved system reliability.

Requirements:

• You must have 5+ years of experience designing, building, and operating scalable, reliable systems in production.
• Strong programming skills in Python are required; familiarity with Go is a plus.
• Experience working with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and/or Amazon Web Services (AWS) is necessary.
• Familiarity with distributed systems deployed on Kubernetes is expected.
• You should enjoy building tools, infrastructure, and abstractions that empower other engineers to work more efficiently.
