Remote Senior Software Engineer

Description:

• Prolific is seeking Senior Software Engineers with a 'product builder' mindset to join their specialized team focused on serving frontier model creators and AI application developers.
• As a full-stack engineer, you will work across Prolific’s domains to solve customer and product problems.
• This role involves making critical technical decisions that balance scrappy startup execution with scalable, reliable engineering.
• Candidates must be based within regular commuting distance of the San Francisco office for in-person collaboration with customers and the US team, while also working with UK-based tech teams.
• The position requires a self-motivated individual who enjoys a fast-paced environment and can make decisions balancing generic, scalable solutions with rapid implementations.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have 6+ years of relevant technical expertise in a product engineering role.
• Proficiency in Python (Django & Fast API), TypeScript and JavaScript (Vue.js), SQL and NoSQL databases (MongoDB and PostgreSQL), and cloud deployment (GCP, GitHub Actions & CircleCI) is required.
• A good understanding of modern web applications and architecture design patterns is necessary.
• Candidates should be able to translate business concepts into software models and have experience working in both monoliths and distributed systems.
• Understanding the importance of code quality and automated testing is essential.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills for direct customer interaction are required.
• Candidates must be able to quickly learn and adapt across the breadth of Prolific’s domains and have the judgment to balance startup execution with reliable engineering.
• Comfort with rapid iteration and responding to customer queries with urgency is necessary.
• Experience supporting applications in production environments and working in a collaborative product engineering team is required.
• An interest in the product lifecycle and delivering value to customers is essential.
• Candidates should be comfortable learning from feedback and iterating based on data, and be curious and motivated to continuously improve their technical skills.
