Description:
We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer with expertise in TypeScript and Node.js to join a small, fast-growing, 100% remote team.
The role involves working on WebContainer, the first-ever in-browser WebAssembly-based operating system.
You will build new capabilities into WebContainer's kernel using TypeScript, Rust, and WebAssembly.
The position includes improving Node.js compatibility with WebContainer and investigating support for new languages and runtimes.
You will contribute to security enhancements and assist open-source projects like Node.js Core and Next.js in adopting WebAssembly.
The role requires creating code and content that helps the Rust and Node.js communities produce smaller and faster WebAssembly binaries.
You will also work on improving the in-browser developer environment, including the shell and npm clients.
Requirements:
You must be located in the EU or CEST timezone (remote within GMT 0-4).
A solid understanding of native Node.js APIs such as file systems, networking, and crypto is required.
You should have 5+ years of experience in Web Development using Web (browser) APIs, with a strong focus on JavaScript.
A minimum of 5 years of experience using JavaScript and TypeScript is necessary.
Experience with end-to-end testing (puppeteer) and unit testing (jest) is required.
You must be able to thrive in an ambiguous environment with a high degree of autonomy.
The ability to learn new technologies and systems quickly is essential.
Empathy for customers, the team, and oneself is important.
Strong problem-solving skills, a positive attitude, and a desire to succeed as a team are required.
Excellent communication skills, especially when discussing technical topics, are necessary.
Benefits:
The position offers a 100% remote work environment.
Employees and their dependents receive medical, dental, and vision coverage (for US employees).
Paid parental leave is provided.
StackBlitz promotes a diverse work environment and encourages applicants from all backgrounds to apply.
