Description:

Join VRChat's Economy team as a Senior / Staff Backend Engineer (API) to architect and evolve systems for creator monetization and transactions.
Focus on building high-integrity backend infrastructure for subscriptions, digital ownership, payment processing, and economic analytics using Node.js and TypeScript.

Requirements:

5+ years of backend engineering experience in SaaS, fintech, or online platforms.
Proficiency in Node.js and TypeScript, with strong experience in relational and non-relational databases (MySQL, MongoDB, Redis).
Experience with message queues, caching strategies, and WebSocket systems.
Familiarity with PCI DSS, GDPR, and PII requirements, and experience building subscription engines or marketplaces.
Comfortable with AWS, Docker, CI/CD pipelines, and Infrastructure as Code.
