Remote Senior / Staff Software Engineer, Mapping

Description:

• Join Waabi's Mapping team to develop foundational spatial intelligence for autonomous vehicles.
• Act as a versatile engineer, transitioning between backend pipelines, API design, and vehicle-side serving.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to create high-definition maps at scale.
• Architect and build long-term mapping infrastructure and robust data pipelines.
• Engineer real-time, high-availability systems for self-driving vehicles.

Requirements:

• BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field with 5+ years of industry experience.
• Strong computer science fundamentals and ability to learn domain-specific concepts like 3D geometry.
• Proficient in multiple programming languages, especially Python, C++, or Rust.
• Experience in designing and deploying production-quality, fault-tolerant software at scale.
• Hands-on experience with distributed systems on modern cloud platforms.
