Remote Software Architect

Description:

• Lead the technical direction for ShiftKey's Marketplace Platform, focusing on core products and next-gen Credentialing systems.
• Enhance platform modularity and reduce tight coupling in architecture to improve safety and scalability.
• Drive strategy and service design, creating a roadmap to address immediate issues and reduce long-term technical risks.
• Collaborate with multiple development teams using clear technical rationale and documentation for alignment.

Requirements:

• Strong background as an Architect or Principal Engineer with a focus on system design and improving modularity.
• Deep experience in major cloud environments (AWS or Azure) and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
• Solid understanding of messaging patterns (e.g., Kafka) and document-based databases.
• Ability to decompose complex problems and secure buy-in from teams through clear documentation.
• Proactive, engineer-led approach to architecture without relying on veto power.
