Description:

• Constructor is a next-generation platform for search and discovery in ecommerce, focusing on optimizing metrics like revenue, conversion rate, and profit.
• The search engine is developed in-house using transformers and generative LLMs, powering search, recommendations, and shopping agents.
• The Query Team is responsible for shaping the search and autosuggest experience, developing advanced query-processing techniques such as autocompletion, spelling correction, and natural language processing.
• The team handles immense traffic, impacting millions of users, and the mid-level engineer will help improve and maintain the systems' infrastructure and implement features for better query processing.
• Constructor has been in the market since 2019 and is led by founders Eli Finkelshteyn and Dan McCormick.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have experience building and scaling high-traffic, high-availability backend systems.
• A solid understanding of algorithms and data structures, particularly in the context of information retrieval, is required.
• Experience in designing and implementing infrastructure for backend systems, including deployment automation, resource provisioning, and system observability, is necessary.
• Candidates should enjoy learning new tools and technologies and working across various stacks.
• Effective collaboration and contribution to a positive, solution-oriented team culture are essential.
