Description:

Arista Networks is seeking world-class software engineers to join the Extensible Operating System (EOS) software development team.
As a core member of the EOS team, you will work in a fast-paced environment to build features for the world's largest data center networks.
Your software will be integral to Arista's EOS, a unique, Linux-based network operating system for all Arista's data center networking products.
The EOS team is responsible for the development and delivery of software for various Arista switches.
You will collaborate with fellow engineers and the marketing team to gather functional and technical requirements for upcoming projects.
Responsibilities include writing functional specifications, design specifications, test plans, and coding to implement these specifications.
You will also work with customers to troubleshoot and resolve network issues.
Internally, you will develop automated tests for your software, monitor their execution, and address any problems identified by these tests.
You will own your projects from definition to deployment and ensure the quality of your deliverables.

Requirements:

A BSc, MS, or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Engineering with 5+ years of related postgraduate work experience is required.
Proficiency in C and/or C++ programming languages is necessary.
Knowledge of UNIX or Linux operating systems is essential.
A strong understanding of networking, including L2, L3, and fundamentals of commercial switching hardware, is ideal.
The ability to independently implement solutions to small-sized problems in EOS software is expected.
Experience in writing test plan specifications and implementing automated test programs is required.
You should be capable of debugging problems found by automated test programs and providing fixes.
Collaboration with Customer Support Engineers and System Test Engineers to analyze and resolve issues is necessary.
Mentoring new and junior engineers is part of the role.
