Remote Sr Full Stack Java Software Engineer

Description:

• Equip is seeking a full-stack Senior Software Development Engineer (SDE) to build new health care web applications and support existing ones in the Cloud.
• The Senior SDE will be responsible for supporting releases, monitoring, triaging and fixing production issues, and ensuring timely execution of projects.
• This role requires the ability to design new features, communicate clearly, work across multiple facets of the project, and mentor less experienced developers.
• The position demands strong analytical capabilities, a passion for creating elegant solutions, and a deep appreciation of systems design.
• Responsibilities include writing clean, scalable software, using modern tools and libraries, and implementing solutions in the cloud (AWS).
• The Senior SDE will follow best practices such as automated testing and thorough PR reviews, develop documentation for architectures and designs, assist in planning and scheduling development work, and mentor junior engineers.

Requirements:

• A 4-year degree in software engineering, computer science, or a similar field, or equivalent work experience is required.
• Candidates must have 5+ years of software development experience with at least one full cycle implementation.
• Proficiency in the following technology stack is necessary: Java, JavaScript/React, relational databases, and AWS.
• The ability to write clear, maintainable, extensible, and testable code is essential.
• Experience in designing and implementing web or mobile applications with a microservice back end is required.
• Candidates should have experience building highly scalable and performant distributed systems with high availability.
• The role requires experience in communicating and coordinating with engineering and product teams and working in an Agile environment.
• An understanding of common web protocols such as ReST and OAuth is necessary.
• Flexibility to work in Eastern/Central time zones is required.
