Description:

• OpenSea is seeking a Staff Android Engineer to enhance the mobile experience for users discovering and trading digital assets.
• The role involves owning Android development from architecture and feature development to performance optimization and AI-assisted tooling.
• Responsibilities include developing and maintaining high-quality Android applications using modern Kotlin and Jetpack Compose, collaborating with product, design, and engineering teams, and taking ownership of features from conception to deployment.
• The engineer will contribute to the architecture of the mobile codebase, integrate with GraphQL APIs, and implement real-time data updates for dynamic user interfaces.
• The position also requires advocating for AI-assisted development tools, participating in code reviews, mentoring, and providing technical leadership for OpenSea's mobile platform.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have expert-level proficiency in modern Android development practices.
• Experience with Kotlin Multiplatform and Jetpack Compose is a significant plus, though not mandatory.
• A solid understanding of GraphQL and Apollo for networking within mobile applications is required.
• Demonstrated ability to build and maintain high-quality, performant, and scalable Android apps from scratch is essential.
• Hands-on experience with real-time data updates and complex UI interactions is necessary.
• A proven track record of adopting and leveraging AI tools to enhance development productivity is expected.
• Candidates should be comfortable working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment focused on shipping polished features.
• Prior experience in fintech or crypto-related products is preferred.
