OpenSea is seeking a Staff Android Engineer to enhance the mobile experience for users discovering and trading digital assets.
The role involves owning Android development from architecture and feature development to performance optimization and AI-assisted tooling.
Responsibilities include developing and maintaining high-quality Android applications using modern Kotlin and Jetpack Compose, collaborating with product, design, and engineering teams, and taking ownership of features from conception to deployment.
The engineer will contribute to the architecture of the mobile codebase, integrate with GraphQL APIs, and implement real-time data updates for dynamic user interfaces.
The position also requires advocating for AI-assisted development tools, participating in code reviews, mentoring, and providing technical leadership for OpenSea's mobile platform.
Requirements:
Candidates must have expert-level proficiency in modern Android development practices.
Experience with Kotlin Multiplatform and Jetpack Compose is a significant plus, though not mandatory.
A solid understanding of GraphQL and Apollo for networking within mobile applications is required.
Demonstrated ability to build and maintain high-quality, performant, and scalable Android apps from scratch is essential.
Hands-on experience with real-time data updates and complex UI interactions is necessary.
A proven track record of adopting and leveraging AI tools to enhance development productivity is expected.
Candidates should be comfortable working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment focused on shipping polished features.
Prior experience in fintech or crypto-related products is preferred.
