Remote Staff Backend Engineer - CP

Description:

• Bitly is seeking a Staff Backend Engineer to develop, improve, and expand the services that power all of its products.
• The role focuses on enhancing the feature set and contributing to ongoing codebase modernization efforts.
• The engineer will collaborate closely with engineering and product teams within distinct areas of ownership.
• Responsibilities include driving technical excellence by mentoring other engineers, advocating for engineering solutions that align with product strategy, and creating and managing backend services using tools and languages such as Go, NSQ, MySQL, and Memcached.
• The engineer will lead cross-functional initiatives to evolve platform architecture and influence technical direction across the company.
• The role requires translating deep systems knowledge into impactful architectural decisions and leveraging AI-powered developer tools to enhance productivity.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have extensive engineering experience with the ability to design robust and scalable services.
• Expertise in one backend language is required, along with experience in others.
• A background in mentoring engineers and a desire to continue doing so is essential.
• Proficiency in writing understandable, testable, and efficient code in languages such as Golang, Python, Java, C#, or Node.js is necessary.
• Candidates should stay current with emerging AI technologies and evaluate their applicability to backend systems and workflows.
• Clear communication of technical concepts to other engineers and parts of the organization is required.
• Adaptability to changing priorities and technical directions while maintaining momentum is essential.
• Initiative in addressing issues or seeking support from team members is expected.
• Experience with automated testing and version control systems, particularly git and GitHub, is required.
