Description:
- Join Patreon as a Staff Backend Engineer, Video Platform to enhance live video experiences for creators and their communities.
- Work with the Backend Platform team to build foundational systems and infrastructure for Patreon's creator platform.
Requirements:
- Significant experience in large-scale backend systems and technical leadership.
- Expertise in live video systems for large audiences (100,000+ concurrent viewers).
- Knowledge of live streaming technologies (HLS, WebRTC) and their trade-offs.
- Experience with distributed systems, APIs, and cloud-native technologies (AWS, Kubernetes).
- Proficiency in Python, Go, or similar backend languages.
- Strong operational mindset with experience in defining video quality metrics and debugging production issues.
