Description:

  • The Staff Data Platform Engineer will lead the design, development, and scaling of a modern data platform.
  • This role is ideal for someone who excels in building and designing robust data systems.
  • The engineer will shape the data infrastructure, drive governance, and build scalable APIs for real-time and batch analytics.
  • Responsibilities include evaluating, designing, and migrating the organization toward a North Star data architecture.
  • The role supports various analytics use cases across telecom networking, product intelligence, financial reporting, and data insights.
  • The engineer will help build a comprehensive Customer 360 platform powered by ML models and behavioral data for advanced use cases like fraud detection and personalized customer engagement.
  • Key responsibilities include architecting a unified data platform, designing data pipelines, leading infrastructure provisioning, collaborating with teams, driving data governance, building APIs, participating in architectural decisions, and mentoring junior engineers.

Requirements:

  • Candidates must have 15+ years of experience in software engineering with a strong focus on data systems and platform architecture.
  • A minimum of 10+ years of experience building data solutions using data lakehouse architectures and self-serve data platforms is required.
  • Candidates should have 10+ years of hands-on programming experience with Scala, Go, Python, and SQL.
  • At least 5+ years of experience building scalable data solutions using Python, Spark, and Terraform is necessary.
  • Proven experience in building serverless and scalable ML infrastructure in high-throughput environments is essential.
  • Deep expertise in cloud-native data stacks such as AWS, Databricks, Snowflake, BigQuery, and Synapse is required.
  • A strong understanding of microservices architecture, event-driven systems (Kafka), and container orchestration (Kubernetes) is needed.
  • Experience with orchestration tools like Airflow or Prefect and transformation tools like DBT is necessary.
  • Proficiency in building and scaling APIs (REST/gRPC) for data access and activation is required.
  • Familiarity with front-end technologies and frameworks (e.g., React) is a plus.
  • Candidates should have experience building distributed Kafka pub/sub models for data ingestion pipelines.
  • Hands-on experience with data visualization and BI tools (Tableau, PowerBI, Cibe.dev) is required.
  • A strong grasp of data governance, compliance frameworks, and secure data sharing practices is necessary.
  • Experience applying AI/ML and LLMs to data products and predictive analytics is essential.
  • Exceptional communication and leadership skills in fast-paced environments are required.
