Remote Staff Software Architect - Data Intensive Web-Applications - Personalization

Description:

• Lead the design and delivery of a data-intensive web product on Microsoft Azure, overseeing services, APIs, integrations, and performance.
• Write code for critical paths, ensuring the application meets latency, throughput, and cost targets.
• Design data processing and presentation, focusing on performance and operability as data volume grows.
• Choose system architecture (modular monolith, microservices, etc.) based on performance, security, and complexity trade-offs.
• Set standards for authentication, observability, testing, and continuous delivery, collaborating with data ingestion and platform teams.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or related field; advanced degrees preferred.
• Experience as a Staff Engineer, Principal Engineer, or Software Architect with large-scale web applications.
• Proven system design experience at production scale, with strong Java skills and familiarity with Go/Python.
• Proficient in TypeScript, React, Next.js, and Microsoft Azure.
• Strong SQL and data modeling skills, with experience in NoSQL and caching strategies.
• Knowledge of automated testing, CI/CD, containers, Kubernetes, and production diagnostics.
• Familiarity with analytics, conversational interfaces, multi-tenant systems, and Domain-Driven Design is a plus.
