Description:

• 10x Genomics is seeking a Staff Software Engineer specializing in AI Solutions to help researchers tackle complex biological questions using single cell and spatial biology technology.
• The role involves developing intelligent, user-centric solutions that assist scientists and internal teams throughout their research journey, impacting genomic studies globally.
• Responsibilities include designing, building, testing, and deploying scalable backend systems for AI and LLM-driven customer experiences and internal tools.
• The engineer will manage large-scale data processing workflows, including data management, normalization, transformation, and vectorization.
• The position requires building and optimizing infrastructure for cloud services, ensuring high uptime, low latency, and robust system performance.
• Collaboration with a cross-functional team of data scientists, computational biologists, software engineers, and domain experts is essential to shape AI features that address customer pain points.
• The role also involves exploring and applying modern NLP techniques, such as retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), transformers, and fine-tuning of foundation models.

Requirements:

• A Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, math, or a scientific discipline, along with 6 years of software development experience, or 8 years of professional software building experience is required.
• Candidates must have professional experience with AI, natural language processing (NLP), RAG, embeddings, vector stores, and GPT models.
• A minimum of four years of experience with backend systems, including REST APIs, backend services, and modern relational database systems, is necessary.
• Experience with cloud environments and services, such as AWS, Kubernetes, Docker, and Grafana, is required.

Benefits:

• The position offers a competitive base pay range of $189,100 - $284,500 USD, with actual pay depending on skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
