Description:

• The position is for a Staff Software Engineer, iOS - Ads at MyFitnessPal, located in the United States.
• This role involves leading the development of iOS ad platform features to enhance user experience and drive business metrics.
• The engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams including Android, Web, Backend, and Infrastructure to ensure efficient integration.
• Responsibilities include providing technical guidance, advocating for best engineering practices, and maintaining scalable codebases.
• The engineer will develop automated testing strategies and CI/CD improvements, while also mentoring other engineers.
• The role requires researching industry trends and integrating new ad formats or tools to improve performance and user engagement.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have 7+ years of professional iOS development experience with a strong portfolio of published apps.
• Advanced knowledge of Objective-C and Swift, as well as UIKit, Foundation, and multithreaded programming is required.
• A proven track record in test-driven development and unit test creation is essential.
• Experience with relational databases and build automation tools for iOS deployment is necessary.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a product-focused engineering approach are required.
• Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills are mandatory.
• Bonus qualifications include experience with App Store Connect, payments infrastructure, or modernizing legacy codebases from Objective-C to Swift.
• Familiarity with collaborative development styles such as XP, TDD, BDD, or Mob Programming is a plus.
