The Data Products & Analytics (DPA) team aims to enhance Wattpad’s Search, Recommendation, and Analytics systems.
The role involves applying machine learning to product development, maintenance, and deployment for Wattpad systems such as recommendations and search.
Responsibilities include maintaining best practices for machine learning, building and maintaining feature dashboards, pipelines, and solutions, and collaborating with product managers, data scientists, and engineers.
Requirements:
A passion for applying machine learning to business problems is essential.
Candidates should have 3+ years of experience in a machine learning engineering role with a track record of delivering impactful applications.
A Bachelor's or Master’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience is required.
Motivation to tackle ambiguous problems and clear communication skills regarding problem requirements and solutions are necessary.
Proven experience in a software engineering environment, developing and deploying data pipelines, models, and services is needed.
Familiarity with Cloud Infrastructure (e.g., AWS), containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and CI/CD workflows is required.
Experience with Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform) is a plus.
Proficiency in working with complex, high-dimensional data using SQL, Python, and Pyspark is preferred.
Experience with applied machine learning frameworks such as scikit-learn, PyTorch, Tensorflow, Ray, Dask, and AWS Sagemaker is advantageous.
