Remote 3D Software Engineer

Description:

• At Houzz, we are building cutting-edge tools to assist professionals in the home remodeling process.
• We are looking for a 3D engineer with a strong focus on real-time rendering techniques.
• The role involves implementing user-facing features for our interactive 3D applications.
• You will build visualization tools using computational geometry and real-time rendering techniques.
• The position requires writing code in Typescript and working with ThreeJS inside a React system.
• Collaboration with product and design teams is essential to create compelling experiences for our users.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have experience working with OpenGL / WebGL or other graphics libraries.
• A strong foundational understanding of linear algebra and computational geometry for computer graphics is required.
• Familiarity with 3D data structures is necessary.
• The ability to communicate technical concepts clearly and effectively in English is essential.
• A B.S. or M.S. degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience is required.
• Ideally, candidates will also have Javascript experience, specifically with Typescript and React.
• Familiarity with ThreeJS or similar frameworks/game engine architectures is preferred.
• General web development experience working with a large/complex tech stack is beneficial.
• Experience working with non-technical coworkers (product managers, designers, artists) to deliver projects is a plus.
• Experience with profiling, optimization, and overall analytics is advantageous.
• Experience developing real-world applications is also desirable.
