Description:
LivePerson is seeking a Backend Engineer (Java/Node.js) to join the Conversation Exchange Services team.
The role involves owning the design and implementation of significant portions of product development.
The successful candidate will help set features, architecture, and best practices, influencing the overall strategy.
Responsibilities include creating reliable, scalable, and high-performance services, requiring exceptional technical expertise and a solid understanding of Computer Science fundamentals.
The engineer will work on complex system software, focusing on customer-centric solutions and operational goals.
Collaboration with architects, product owners, engineers, user experience designers, and data scientists is essential for executing and delivering features.
The role includes building, scaling, and maintaining critical features of the Enterprise platform used by millions of users and customer service agents.
Understanding customer/business requirements and translating them into platform capabilities is crucial.
The engineer will work with Customer Support and Solution teams to handle inquiries and minimize escalations.
Participation in long-term product roadmap discussions and architecture review boards is expected.
The role promotes agile and test-driven software development practices.
Excellent communication skills are required for leading design discussions and presenting to senior management.
Requirements:
A minimum of 5 years of experience with Java at scale is required.
Experience with large-scale distributed microservices architecture is essential.
Candidates should have past experience working with end-to-end product mission-driven teams.
A solid understanding of RESTful and GraphQL APIs is necessary.
Hands-on experience with CI/CD, monitoring, observability, and production readiness is required.
Candidates must be self-motivated and enthusiastic about the end customer experience.
Experience working with globally distributed teams in multiple time zones is a plus.
Willingness to participate in paid on-call duty approximately every 4 weeks is required.
A strong sense of quality, personal responsibility, and a passion for development is essential.
