Description:

  • LivePerson is seeking a Backend Engineer (Java/Node.js) to join the Conversation Exchange Services team.
  • The role involves owning the design and implementation of significant portions of product development.
  • The successful candidate will help set features, architecture, and best practices, influencing the overall strategy.
  • Responsibilities include creating reliable, scalable, and high-performance services, requiring exceptional technical expertise and a solid understanding of Computer Science fundamentals.
  • The engineer will work on complex system software, focusing on customer-centric solutions and operational goals.
  • Collaboration with architects, product owners, engineers, user experience designers, and data scientists is essential for executing and delivering features.
  • The role includes building, scaling, and maintaining critical features of the Enterprise platform used by millions of users and customer service agents.
  • Understanding customer/business requirements and translating them into platform capabilities is crucial.
  • The engineer will work with Customer Support and Solution teams to handle inquiries and minimize escalations.
  • Participation in long-term product roadmap discussions and architecture review boards is expected.
  • The role promotes agile and test-driven software development practices.
  • Excellent communication skills are required for leading design discussions and presenting to senior management.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience with Java at scale is required.
  • Experience with large-scale distributed microservices architecture is essential.
  • Candidates should have past experience working with end-to-end product mission-driven teams.
  • A solid understanding of RESTful and GraphQL APIs is necessary.
  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD, monitoring, observability, and production readiness is required.
  • Candidates must be self-motivated and enthusiastic about the end customer experience.
  • Experience working with globally distributed teams in multiple time zones is a plus.
  • Willingness to participate in paid on-call duty approximately every 4 weeks is required.
  • A strong sense of quality, personal responsibility, and a passion for development is essential.
