The engineer will select appropriate models based on accuracy, latency, and cost, and optimize prompts while managing token usage.

Staying updated on the latest trends in foundation models, developer tooling, and AI infrastructure is also a key responsibility.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate has shipped LLM features in production and understands the nuances of deploying them at scale.
Familiarity with OpenAI, Anthropic, Mistral, and similar APIs is required.
Experience in vector databases and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) frameworks, such as Pinecone and FAISS, is necessary.
The candidate should be comfortable writing glue code in Python.
Bonus skills include hands-on experience with LangChain, LlamaIndex, or custom AI agents.
The candidate should be able to think in tradeoffs and know when to use closed versus open models.
Strong product thinking and a bias toward action are essential traits for the ideal candidate.
