Flatfile is revolutionizing enterprise data handling through AI automation by building an AI-native data mapping, cleaning, and transformation platform.
The AI Engineer will work at the intersection of conventional software engineering and machine learning, focusing on applying AI to solve real-world problems.
The role involves owning critical parts of the AI-powered data platform, including designing and implementing robust backend services that integrate with various AI models for data understanding and transformation.
Responsibilities include building fault-tolerant systems for handling high latency and variance, creating streaming architectures for real-time AI processing, and developing evaluation frameworks to measure AI features' accuracy and reliability.
The AI Engineer will collaborate closely with the product team to prototype and ship new AI capabilities and establish best practices for AI development at Flatfile.
The tech stack includes LangGraph, various LLMs and open source models, React, Typescript, Node (Nest.js), Prisma, Postgres, and Flatfile’s homegrown data engine.

Requirements:

Essential requirements include experience building production backend systems and strong computer science fundamentals, especially in distributed systems.
Candidates must have experience handling asynchronous workflows and building resilient services, along with a genuine enthusiasm for AI technology and its practical applications.
A track record of shipping customer-facing features is also required.
Great to have qualifications include experience working with LLMs in production environments, a background in data processing or ETL systems, and familiarity with AI model deployment and optimization.
Experience with streaming architectures and open source contributions to AI/ML tools are also considered beneficial.
