Remote AI Engineer

Description:

• OpenFn is seeking an AI Engineer for a 1-year contract position to work remotely in Africa/Europe time zones.
• The company provides a data transformation and process automation platform for LMIC governments and NGOs.
• The AI Engineer will focus on integrating AI tooling into internal workflows and external products to enhance solutions delivery.
• Responsibilities include designing and developing AI-assisted services, building micro-agents, and contributing to the TypeScript & Python AI server.
• The role involves collaborating with the development team to deliver production software within deadlines and establish responsible AI policies.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science and at least two years of industry experience in software development.
• Proficiency in machine learning, LLMs, and emerging AI technologies, with familiarity with huggingface.
• Ability to identify and solve problems proactively, distinguish between good and bad APIs, and work effectively in a small team.
• Strong communication skills, a positive mindset, and a professional attitude towards work.
• Passion for exploring new technologies, prioritizing user experience, and contributing to open-source projects.
