Description:
NetBox Labs is seeking a hands-on, technically experienced AI/ML engineer for a founding role in a new AI initiative.
The engineer will explore and deliver AI-powered product features to enhance network and infrastructure management.
Responsibilities include taking ownership of the full lifecycle of intelligent features, from experimentation and modeling to production deployment and iteration.
The role involves establishing patterns, processes, architecture, and internal knowledge to scale AI efforts across the company.
The engineer will design and build foundational AI capabilities and intelligent systems for user-facing features and new product experiences.
Collaboration with product and engineering teams is essential to define problems worth solving with AI/ML.
The engineer will lay technical foundations for scalable, secure, and repeatable AI use.
Implementing agentic solutions for autonomous capabilities in products is part of the role.
The engineer will educate and mentor team members on AI/ML principles and best practices.
Serving as the team's AI expert and keeping up with AI engineering trends is expected.
Requirements:
Candidates must have 5+ years of experience building AI- or ML-powered features in production systems.
Hands-on experience with LLMs, agentic architectures, or similar generative AI technologies is required.
Strong Python engineering skills are necessary, with comfort in backend systems; knowledge of Golang is a plus.
Experience integrating with products using AWS, Kubernetes, Postgres, Clickhouse, microservices, and event-driven architectures is essential.
Candidates should have experience shipping and supporting AI-driven features or ML models in production environments.
Comfort in ambiguity and the ability to explore, validate, and narrow down problem spaces is required.
A collaborative, pragmatic, and product-oriented mindset is essential.
Experience working cross-functionally with product, engineering, and other stakeholders is necessary.
Candidates should have 2+ years of experience in a B2B SaaS startup environment or a similarly fast-paced, high-ownership setting.
