• The AI & Frontier Model Scientist will lead data science initiatives and drive innovations in data and AI at FourKites.
• This strategic role will work across departments to leverage big data and machine learning, ensuring the software remains industry-leading.
• The position reports to the EVP, Technology.
• Responsibilities include leading, growing, and mentoring the data science team while fostering a culture of excellence.
• The role involves setting the long-term vision and strategy for the data science function in alignment with company goals.
• The scientist will partner with product and engineering teams to integrate advanced machine learning algorithms into software offerings.
• They will drive research and development of state-of-the-art algorithms to add value for customers and provide a competitive edge.
• The scientist will serve as the primary liaison between the data science team and other departments.
• They will translate complex data insights into actionable strategies for both executive and non-technical stakeholders.
• The role includes fostering cross-functional collaborations to maximize the impact of data science across the company.
• The scientist will oversee the full lifecycle of data science projects, ensuring timely delivery and high-quality outputs.
• They will implement best practices for data processing, model development, validation, and deployment.

• Staying updated with the latest industry trends in big data and machine learning is essential.
• Hands-on work is desirable, although not required.

Requirements:

• A minimum of 15 years of experience in data science, machine learning, or related fields is required, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
• Proven experience in launching successful products with significant data science components and managing the entire lifecycle of model development is necessary.
• Demonstrable expertise in building and deploying machine learning models is essential.
• Knowledge of data technologies and machine learning platforms is required.
• Strong coding skills are necessary for this position.
• A PhD degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field is required.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud and their AI platforms is necessary.
• A track record of thought leadership through publications, speaking engagements, or contributions to the data science community is required.
