Description:

We are seeking a full-stack engineer to own and drive AI agent workflows at Anara, a company focused on reinventing how scientists discover information and collaborate.
The role involves building the technical foundation for features that will transform scientific research for decades to come.
The tech stack includes Next.js, TRPC, Tailwind CSS, Drizzle and Prisma for databases, AWS (SST/EC2), NextAuth, Turborepo, and Python.
Responsibilities include designing, implementing, and optimizing AI agent workflows and supporting infrastructure, ensuring reliability, scalability, and rapid iteration.
The engineer will collaborate closely with the engineering team on the RAG pipeline, continuously improving response quality, latency, and robustness.
Monitoring and optimizing system performance and costs is essential, making pragmatic tradeoffs to maintain efficiency.
Establishing best practices for prompt engineering and deploying new models and workflows is a key part of the role.
The engineer will also design and automate evaluation pipelines to continuously measure, benchmark, and improve AI agent quality and reliability.
The position is remote, with the option to work from San Francisco, and visa sponsorship is available for those interested in relocating.

Requirements:

Candidates should be quick, scrappy, and primarily hackers/builders, comfortable moving from idea to production in days rather than weeks.
Experience in shipping complex backend and AI/ML features to real users is required.
Hands-on experience with full stack agent behaviors, LLMs, RAG, and agent architectures is necessary.
Previous work in a high-growth, fast-paced environment, ideally at another startup, is preferred, with the ability to drive projects forward with minimal oversight.
